Ingredients and Sources
♦♦♦ Raw Goat's Milk
Raw goat's milk is easier to digest, and closer to human milk, and is generally preferable over cow's milk, especially for people who have weak digestion or a tendency toward mucus-toxins. Organic milk, from grass-fed cows (which is obtainable from most health food stores, and many supermarkets), but which is pasteurized, is a distant second.
Most people who are lactose intolerant are intolerant to the enzyme-destroyed, protein corrupted, lactose found in processed cow's milk. The regular intake of raw goat's milk, or raw cow's milk, which provide the much-needed enzymes, is usually tolerable to people who are lactose intolerant and it oftentimes "cures" the condition.
Milk Scale (from best to worst)
1. Raw Goat's Milk, Grass-fed, Organic
1a. Processed Goat Milk, Grass-fed, organic
2. Raw Cow Milk, Grass-Fed, Organic, A2
(Guernsey Cows are 100% A2; Jersey are 65% A2)
A2 milk contains a viable amino acid proline link which bonds to a small but harmful protein called BCM-7, thereby preventing it from being released. The BCM-7 protein is highly mucogenic (mucous forming) and is also implicated in various health problems, such as, impaired immune function, autoimmune disease, and heart problems.
. . . If you cannot get goat milk or raw cow milk (A2) then:
3. Raw Cow Milk, Grass-Fed, Organic, A1
4. Commercial “organic” milk, produced from grass-fed cows (or goats), with no growth hormones, no vitamin D added, yet which has been pasteurized and homogenized.
5. Commercial “organic” milk, from cows with regular feed (including cornmeal), with no vitamin D added, which has been pasteurized and homogenized. This includes all "organic" milk which does not specifically say "grass-fed."
. . . Not recommended:
6. Commercial, milk, from cows with regular feed (including cornmeal), which has been pasteurized and homogenized, but from cows which have not received growth hormones.
7. Regular, commercial, processed milk, non-fat
7a. Regular, commercial, processed milk, low fat (2%, 1%)
7b. Regular, commercial, pasteurized, full-fat, homogenized milk.
There are three problems with the fat found in commercial milk, a) a lot of toxic residue, including pesticides and antibiotics is stored in the fat, b) the homogenization process changes the fat molecule making it more permeable (and toxic) for the body, and c) fat in milk is mucus-forming and problematic for people with slow digestion and a sluggish system, especially pasteurized fat (and is considered by Dr. Budwig to be a "respiratory poison.") Thus, if you you must use commercial milk for any reason, it is best to use fat-free milk. Commercial, processed milk is difficult to digest, highly mucus-forming, and carries loads of toxins. Commercial cows are cramped and force-milked all day which lowers their “happiness level”---and the misery of their conditions is passed into the milk they produce. The milk is pasteurized to extend its shelf-life, but this process destroys all the beneficial enzymes and “knarls” the protein making it more difficult to digest. Synthetic Vitamin D2 is invariably added to most commercial milk; this has no functional resemblance to the Vitamin D3 that the body produces through direct exposure to sunlight.

As a second alternative to fresh goat milk, you can use powdered goat milk.
A. Mt. Capra (http://www.mtcapra.com/products/)
B. Meyenberg may also be OK (and is obtainable from most health food stores).
As a third alternative, you can use high-quality, pasteurized goat's milk or cow's milk.
♦♦♦ Flaxseed Oil
Sources:
Barleans, (NOT high lignans) is the best option. (Try to get it within one month of the pressing date). (If you are a person with cancer, you can contact Barleans directly; they will give you a deep discount and ship the oil directly to you). Do not purchase flaxseed oil if is has been stored on the bottom shelf, near the refrigerator motor. Other brands of cold-pressed flaxseed oil, such as Vitamin Shoppe, are about half the price of Barleans. These may be just as good (especially since Vitamin Shoppe, as I was told, gets their flaxseed oil from Barleans).
Always look at all the bottles on the shelf and select the one which has the closest pressing date or the furthest expiration date.
♦♦♦ Whey
The best whey to use for the shake is whey protein concentrate (not isolate) which comes from raw milk and is produced from organic, hormone-free, grass-fed cows; it should also be cold-processed to preserve all its bio-active imunofactors.
Whey protein concentrate contains all the beneficial co-factors found in regular whey because it is a concentrate not a derivative; whey isolate isolates the amino acids found in regular whey, but in this process some of the beneficial co-factors are lost. Whey isolate is a fractionalized food product while whey concentrate is a whole food, complete with all the co-factors found in naturally-occurring whey. Whey isolate is slightly higher in protein density, and perhaps useful for short-term gains for body-builders but for overall health, whey concentrate is preferable. Most of the whey products on the shelf are sweetened and flavored with “natural,” non-glucose sweeteners—such as stevia or xylitol. I prefer using unsweetened, unflavored whey concentrate (and vanilla flavored as a second choice) and then adding my own sweetener.

E. Any high-quality whey protein concentrate from your local health store. Should be processed by micro-filtration (low heat) and use whey from grass-fed cows or goats, or at least from cows not treated with any kind of hormones.
G. Goatein (Garden of Life) (440g = $35.00)
Some people prefer using Goatein over Whey Protein Concentrate. (You will need about twice as much Goatein as Whey Protein Concentrate to activate the flaxseed oil).
♦♦♦ Bee Pollen -- It is best to get fresh, moist, and properly-processed bee pollen. The best source would be to find a local beekeeper (if you live in a rural area) or from a health food store which carries a fresh, regional brand. If you cannot find a good regional brand, you can obtain pollen from:
1. Local health food store (in the bulk department)
2. Dutchman's Gold (from Canada)

♦♦♦ Honey / D-Ribose / Liquid Stevia
Honey:
Purchase Local honey, when possible. Creamed honey is best.
1. Local raw, creamed honey. (Stop and Shop sells good raw honey.)
2. Dutchman's Gold
www.bee-pollen-buzz.com/organic-bee-pollen.ht
They sell raw honey, fresh-frozen royal jelly, and royal jelly powder.
D-Ribose Powder >> Amazon Link
Purchase over the Internet from Hard Rhino or Swanson
Liquid Stevia
Purchase from most health food stores and major supermarket chains, such as Stop and Shop, Wegman's, Shoprite, etc.
♦♦♦ Fresh or frozen berries — Raspberries and strawberries (which require a lot of pesticide) should be organic (or properly cleaned in a dilute Clorox bath); blueberries and mangoes are best organic but can also be non-organic as well. Commercially frozen fruits and berries (such as those supplied by large supermarkets and Wild Oats) are generally not recommended because you cannot tell how long the fruit or berries have been frozen, how deeply they've been frozen, or whether or not they have been thawed a little and refrozen.
It is generally better not to use frozen fruits and berries. If using frozen fruits and berries the preferred method is to buy fresh produce and freeze them a day, or a few days, before using them. When using non-organic produce, you can wash them in a dilute Clorox bath to remove pesticides and other toxins, before freezing. When using mangoes, you can place the entire mango in the freezer. The next day, you can peel the frozen mango (with a sharp knife) and cut off sections of the mango and cut into smaller pieces so that they can be properly blended in the shake.
♦♦♦ Evening Primrose Oil, Borage Oil, Vitamin E
Obtain from The Vitamin Shop, online, or local health food store.
♦♦♦ Organic chia seeds, yellow flax seeds
Purchase from local health food store. Large supermarkets, like Stop and Shop and Wegman's usually carry organic chia seeds.
♦♦♦ Red raspberry seed powder / ellagic acid
Ellagic Acid, which is found in blueberries, blackberries (Hull variety is highest), strawberries (Seneca is highest), pomegranates, cranberries, and red raspberries, and has particular health and anti-cancer benefits. 40 mg/day of ellagatannins (which the body concerts into ellagic acid) is an adequate anti-cancer amount portion. This is the amount found in 1 cup of red raspberries (Meeker variety). (Besides it anti-cancer potency, studies indicate that ellagic acid powerfully chelates nickel from the body). Red raspberries and pomegranates are high in ellagic acid; strawberries are medium, and blueberries are low (however, blueberries are high in resveratrol, a powerful free-radical scavenger.)
Dosage:
One level teaspoon (2000 mg/ 2 grams) of red raspberry seed powder contains approx. 20mg of ellagitannins. Two level teaspoons (four grams) provides 40 mg of ellagitannins—equivalent to the amount of ellagitannins found in one cup of fresh red raspberries. Maintenance does = 1tsp/day. Standard dose (for the treatment of cancer) = 2 tsp/day (40 mg/day). Aggressive dose = 3 level tsp/day (60mg/day). Adding more than 1tsp per shake may adversely effect the taste. If taking 2tsp/day, take 1 tsp with the shake and 1 tsp at another time.
I do not prefer using fractionalized food, such as red raspberry seed powder, but would prefer to use whole raspberries, as the whole raspberries may provide unknown co-factors which enhance the activity of the ellagitannins. However, using large amounts of raspberries may not be convenient. Thus, the preferred method is to use red raspberry seed powder and add a few whole raspberries.
Blueberries are extremely rich in a wide range of powerful antioxidant. Blueberries have more anthocyanins than any other food—3 times more than the second richest source, green tea. They are also high in quercetin.

♦♦♦ Diatomaceous Earth
The benefits of Diatomaceous Earth fall into three main categories:
1. Kills Parasites / Removes Toxins
Diatomaceous Earth is made from the fossilized remains of ancient, single-celled creatures. These hard shells carry a very strong negative charge. As these millions of shapes move through the stomach and digestive tract, they attract and absorb fungi, protozoa, viruses, pesticides and drug residues, E-Coli, and heavy metals, which are then passed out of the body. In addition, any larger parasites that eat these microscopic shells are "cut up" and killed by their sharp edges.
2. Cleanses Digestive Track
Diatomaceous Earth is very hard. On the hardness scale where diamonds are a 9, Diatomaceous Earth is a 7. This is very important, because as those millions of tiny hard and sharp Diatomaceous Earth shapes pass through the small and large intestines, they "scrub" toxic build-up off the walls. (And don't worry, they never actually touch the colon wall, the only scrape away encrusted fecal waste.) After only a few months of taking Diatomaceous Earth, the intestine wall is no longer coated with toxic waste but clean! Regular use of DE can help restore regular bowel movements, improves the condition of the colon, and allows for better absorption of nutrients. Many users report increased energy and needing less sleep.
3. Supplies Silica
A small amount of Diatomaceous Earth gets absorbed into the blood stream as silica. One of the benefits of Silica is that it helps to destroy bad fats. Most people report that taking Diatomaceous Earth has lowered their cholesterol by 40-50 points. Many people are also amazed at how their high blood pressure goes down. Other benefits include:
Order from Earthworks: www.earthworkshealth.com.
The DE they sell is supplied by Perma-Guard. This DE is made from fresh water diatoms (which are supposedly better than those which come from salt water). Also, be aware that shipping and handling may cost more than the actual product. For ten pounds of the DE the cost was $14.00 and S&H (shipped from Nebraska) was $14.95. If you are buying large amounts see if you can find a local store that sells Perma-Guard DE.
♦♦♦ Modified Citrus Pectin
Modified Citrus Pectin has numerous anti-cancer effects when taken in the right dosage. Its main effect is to prevent cancer cells from sticking together. The taste is mild but if too much is used it can "take over" the taste of the shake. (As such, you may not want to add MCP to the shake, but mix it in with other foods or simply take on its own, in a glass of water. Some manufacturers recommend taking MCP on its own, without food.) Regular dosages of 5gms/day (1 tsp/day) has a beneficial effect; therapeutic dosages, from 15-30 grams/day (2-3 TB / day), has a more potent anti-cancer effect. It is best to spread out the doses to 3x/day as opposed to taking one dose.
"MCP works by binding to (blocking) a molecule in cancer cells called galectin-3. This is molecule is like a lock (has an opening in it) that a key can fit in to. Galectin-3 helps the cancer cells do a couple of things. First, it aids cancer cells in attaching to things, which helps them spread. Secondly, galectin-3 seems to play a role in the death, or lack of death, in cancer cells. It helps them avoid apoptosis, the natural process where cells are supposed to end their own life when they are old, damaged, diseased, and so on. In this way, cancers behave as if they were immortal and keep invading and dividing at the expense of the rest of the body. For this reason, MCP can be viewed also as one of the dietary apoptogens, or substances that turn on programmed, normal cell death, of cancer cells. It also has the benefit of binding to toxic metals, like lead."
♦♦♦ Serrapeptase / Bromelain
Doctor's Best, High Potency Serrapeptase (120,000 Serrapeptase Units per capsule)
Serrapeptase is a proteolytic (protein-digesting) enzyme. When this is added to the shake (along with bromelain) it combines with the "sticky" flaxseed gel and helps to digest away toxins that have built up along the wall of the small and large intestine. A similar combination, which has an even more powerful effect, is that of okra-pepsin (or comfrey-pepsin). The okra, which is "sticky," holds the pepsin against the intestinal wall, and thus enables it to digest away toxins. Pepsin cannot be used with the Fosube shake (because of the taste and also the expense), but the combination of serraptase+bromelain+flaxseed gel has a similar, digestive-cleansing effect.
♦♦♦ Probiotics / L. Salivarius
A full-scale probiotics by any major brand will usually suffice. I use Inner Garden Flora by R-Garden
For L. Salivarius yogurt, you can purchase the L.Salivarius strain and make the yogurt from the powder. the procedure is fairly simple: empty six to eight capsules of l. salivarius into a glass container (that has a lid.) I also add a few "boosters" to the yogurt, such as a little bit of molasses and some undenatured whey protein concentrate powder, but this is not necessary. Boil about 2 cups of high-quality milk, which has not been ultra-pasteurized. (I used goat's milk but cow's milk is also okay.) Heat the milk to boiling, while constantly stirring; let boil for a few seconds; cool the pot in the sink with cold water running (while stirring) until the milk is luke-warm, and then pour into the glass container with the salivarius in it. Place the contents in some kind of insulated container with a night light on inside the container. The goal is to maintain a temperature of about 105 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12-18 hours. After that, the yogurt will be firm. Then place in the refrigerator. When making the second batch, you can use some of the existing yogurt (1-2 Tbs) and/or use the capsules again. If using some "seed" yogurt for the second batch, it will take only a few hours. You can also make a quart at a time.

- Sore joints and ligaments feel better
- Skin clears up (acne-age spots-psoriasis)
- Hair and nails are stronger and grow faster
- Stronger teeth and gums
- Healthier respiratory tract---less coughing
