The Fosube Shake is a masterful combination of ingredients that can be used to improve one's overall health, increase athletic performance, enhance one's sense of well-being, and help overcome many degenerative conditions.
The three main components of The Fosube Shake are:
Fo = Flaxseed Oil
Su = Sulfur-rich protein
Be = Beneficial and Supportive Ingredients
Flaxseed Oil and Sulfur-Rich Proteins (Fo-su)
According to the research and insights of Johanna Budwig, when linolenic acid (found in flaxseed oil) is combined with a sulfur-rich protein (found in whey protein concentrate or cottage cheese) it creates a new oxygen-rich, electron-rich substance that she would describe as “liquid sunlight.” The sulfur-rich protein emulsifies the essential fatty acid rendering it water-soluble; this enables the fatty acid to quickly penetrate the body and impart its electron-energy to every cell. Water soluble lipids play a “decisive role” in cellular respiration (the ability of the cells to uptake oxygen and produce energy); they also generate a field of electrons that is conducted off into the body and effectively “recharges” every cell. In terms of restoring overall health, oxygenating cells, and aligning a person with the life-giving resonance of the sun, no other food, or food combination, can replace the essential combination of flaxseed oil and sulfur-rich protein.
This combination was discovered by the German biochemist, Johanna Budwig. She used it for decades to restore health and help people overcome degenerative conditions, such as cancer and heart disease.

Other Beneficial Ingredients (Be)
In addition to flaxseed oil and sulfur-rich protein, the Fosube Shake includes a number of “superfood co-factors” such as bee pollen, rice bran solubles, and berries.
Main Ingredients 0f the Fosube Shake:
Raw Goat's Milk / Or a combination of milk and pomegranate juice
Flaxseed Oil
Whey Protein Concentrate / Egg White Protein Powder
Ground Chia Seeds / Flaxseeds
Bee Pollen
D-Ribose + Stevia / Raw Honey
Berries
Rice Bran Solubles (with tocotrienols)
Bromelain / Serrapeptase
Vanilla Extract / Honey
Additional Ingredients:
Evening Primrose Oil
Diatomaceous Earth (DE)
Modified Citrus Pectin
Red Raspberry Seed Powder
Full-Scale Probiotics
Lecithin (organic sunflower is preferable)
L-Salivarius Yogurt
Acerola (or Camu Camu) powder (for Vitamin C)
Collagen Peptides
Inositol
Health Note:
Some health researchers, especially Ray Peat, caution that the intake of PUFAs (polyunsaturated fatty acids), in an amount greater than 4 grams per day, can be harmful to one's health. To keep PUFA intake low, one would certainly want to avoid any commercial form of fat or oil that is high in PUFA---including all forms of oil made from soy, corn safflower, sunflower, canola, etc., and products made with it, such as mayonnaise, salad dressing, cakes, corn or vegetable chip, cheese puffs, etc., but also "healthy" omega-3 oils such as flax, hemp and fish oil. Thus, according to Ray Peat, the amount of PUFAs found in flaxseed, as used for the Fosube Shake (and the Budwig Protocol), FAR EXCEEDS the recommended amount (of no more than 4g/day). Even with the addition of sulfur protein, which changes the main fatty acids in flaxseed oil into a water soluble substance, the harmful effects of the PUFA content may remain and may neutralize all the other benefits. Thus, as a low-PUFA alternative, one could try the Nosube Shake. This is what I am currently using after having consumed the Fosube Shake, on a regular basis, for over ten years.
The Nosube Shake contains far fewer PUFA than the Fosube Shake (but does not contain the essential Flaxseed oil -- sulfur protein combination as recommended by Johanna Budwig).
The three main components of The Fosube Shake are:
No = No (or very little) PUFA
Su = Superfoods
Be = Beneficial and Supportive Ingredients
The main difference between the shakes is that the Nosube Shake uses coconut oil instead of flaxseed oil. The Nosube Shake only uses ground chia seeds (for bulking) not flax seeds. In addition, the Nosube Shake uses one raw egg and half the amount of whey protein (used in the Fosube Shake). Below are the ingredients for the Nosube Shake that I currently use:
Main Ingredients of the Nosube Shake:
Raw goat milk or 2% organic skim milk (from grass-fed cows)
Goat's Milk Powder (2T) (when Goat's Milk is not available)
Coconut Oil (4t)
Whey Protein Concentrate (1/2 scoop)
Raw Egg
Ground Chia Seeds (2t ground seeds, stir into warm water to create bulk)
3 capsules of probiotics (open capsules and combine with ground chia seeds)
Bee Pollen (1-2T)
D-Ribose (1t)
Stevia (10 drops) / Raw Honey (1t)
Berries (one possibility: cranberries, blueberries, organic strawberry or mango)
Rice Bran Solubles with tocotrienols (2T)
Bromelain (open capsules and put in shake)
Diatomaceous Earth (DE) (1t)
Red Raspberry Seed Powder (1t)
Acerola Powder / Camu Camu Powder (1t) (for Vitamin C)
Collagen Peptides (2T)
Glycine (1T)
Gelatin Powder (1T)
Vitamin E oil, 400ui (use every other day)
Additional Ingredients:
Pomgrantate Juice Powder (1-2t)
Inositol (1t)
Lecithin (1t) (organic sunflower)
Cottage Cheese (for more protein)
More Research: To understand the Nosube Shake (as compared to the Fosube Shake) I advise you to research the anti-health implications of high PUFA consumption. A good place to begin is the the Ray Peat Website (Raypeat.com), where you can read articles by Ray Peat about PUFAs, and the Ray Peat Forum (Raypeatforum.com) where users share critical research and experience on PUFAs and their effects.
